At the time of this email, more than 40 million people will lose access to food assistance this Saturday, November 1, 2025. This includes the many youth experiencing homelessness, 44% of whom are young parent families, that rely on food assistance to survive.
Even during a government shutdown, the Administration has clear legal authority and existing funds to keep SNAP and WIC benefits flowing on November 1.
Millions of families’ access to food assistance depends on swift action. Just today, over 24 states filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration to maintain funding for SNAP benefits. Many groups across the country are tirelessly working to ensure there will not be a lapse in benefits.
