This free workshop is designed to give you an overview of the home buying process! You will learn how to get financially prepared, how to access grant funds, and what to expect from the professionals who will be involved in the process.Workshops are online and live, so be prepared to take notes and ask questions! Speakers include an AHCOPA housing counselor, mortgage loan officer, real estate agent, home inspector, and home insurance representative. AHCOPA will discuss how you can get prepared to buy a home and apply for down payment assistance programs!

Grants/Down Payment Assistance
Home buyer assistance is available to assist first-time homebuyers by reducing the principal, covering down payments and providing loan closing costs. There are typically four sources of assistance as listed in the chart below. Click on each one to see what sources are available to you. We will work with you to ensure you are made aware of all grants as well as eligibility and making an application on your behalf.

Free 4-Hour Homebuyer Education Course Online
Whether you’re thinking about your first home, or trying to remember all the steps from the last time, this homebuyer education course is for you! This first-time homebuyer class is also approved to qualify you for most down payment assistance programs.
Each free, online workshop features a lender, a realtor, a home inspector and a housing advisor from NKCDC. Topics range from selecting a realtor to getting inspections. NKCDC housing advisors present pre-purchase and post-purchase information. We answer all questions!
